Support Bracket – GM (86571648)

This is a support bracket from GM, factory part number 86571648. It is catalogued under Brackets & Supports > Brackets.

• Corrosion at a mounting face is worth cleaning back before fitting anything new, because a part that sits on scale will work loose.
• Torque figures belong to the fastener and the joint rather than to the part, so the factory procedure is the reference rather than a general rule.
• A part that fails early usually points at an installation fault or a worn component nearby rather than at the part itself.

Keeping the old part until the new one is fitted and checked is the simplest way to avoid a second order.
