F Bracket – GM (85590852)

The f bracket here is the GM part, numbered 85590852. It is catalogued under Brackets & Supports > Brackets.

• Support and brace parts are matched to a specific engine and body combination, so the part number carries more information than the shape does.
• Brackets that carry load in shear rather than tension are sensitive to bolt grade, and substituting a lower grade is a common cause of elongation at the holes.
• Where a bracket also earths a component, the mounting surface needs to be clean metal or the circuit will be intermittent.

Rubber insulators isolate vibration, and a worn insulator will make even a new bracket feel loose within a few thousand miles. Genuine parts are made to the drawing the vehicle was built from, so dimensions and materials match the part being removed rather than being close to it.

Check the number on the part you are removing before ordering. If it is worn off, send the VIN and a photo and we will match it. Dispatched from our US warehouse within one to two business days, with free shipping over $59.
