Buying guide: Brackets & Supports

This category covers accessory and drive belt tensioner brackets, tank and module brackets, radio and antenna brackets, engine and transmission mounts, exhaust and body supports, and the rubber insulators that sit between a component and the frame.

Just over 10,000 listings fall here, split between brackets, mounts and insulators, and supports and braces. GM, Ford, Mopar and ACDelco all appear, and many of the listings are the exact bracket called for by a specific engine and body combination rather than a universal part.

A bracket is one of the few parts where a wrong number will physically bolt on and still be wrong: mounting holes line up, but the offset, the angle or the reinforcement differ, and the component ends up stressed or misaligned. Always match the part number, and check whether the listing includes the mounting bolts and the rubber insulator — on older vehicles those are usually sold separately and are usually the parts that have actually failed.
