USB Data Cable – GM (42609738)

The usb data cable here is the GM part, numbered 42609738. It is catalogued under Cables & Linkage > Cables.

• Linkage rods with threaded ends are adjusted for length, so thread engagement at each end matters as much as the overall dimension.
• Genuine parts are made to the drawing the vehicle was built from, so dimensions and materials match the part being removed rather than being close to it.
• The number stamped on the old part is the only reliable identifier, since two parts can look identical and differ by a millimetre or by rotation direction.

Where a cable operates a latch, the latch itself is often the real fault, so check that it moves freely before blaming the cable. Keeping the old part until the new one is fitted and checked is the simplest way to avoid a second order.

Match this against the part you are taking off rather than against a photo. If the number is unreadable, send us the VIN and we will confirm it. Leaves our US warehouse in one to two business days, and shipping is free over $59.
