Release Cable – Ford (ft4z16916b)

The release cable here is the FORD part, numbered ft4z16916b. It is catalogued under Cables & Linkage > Cables.

• Adjustable rods and links are set to a reference length at the factory, and matching that length before fitting saves a lot of trial and error.
• Release and shift cables are directional. Fitted the wrong way round they usually still operate, but bind or fail early.
• Cables routed near exhaust or moving suspension parts need their original clips, because a cable left to hang will chafe through its conduit within a season.

Where a cable operates a latch, the latch itself is often the real fault, so check that it moves freely before blaming the cable.

Check the number on the part you are removing before ordering. If it is worn off, send the VIN and a photo and we will match it. Ships from our US warehouse in one to two business days, free over $59.
