Multi-Purpose Bracket – GM (96847355)

Factory part number 96847355: a multi-purpose bracket supplied by GM. It is catalogued under Brackets & Supports > Brackets.

• Brackets that carry load in shear rather than tension are sensitive to bolt grade, and substituting a lower grade is a common cause of elongation at the holes.
• Where a bracket also earths a component, the mounting surface needs to be clean metal or the circuit will be intermittent.
• Brackets are frequently revised during a model run, so a superseded number may look different from the part being removed and still be correct.

A bracket is one of the few parts where a wrong number will physically bolt on and still be wrong: the holes line up but the offset or angle differs.

Match this against the part you are taking off rather than against a photo. If the number is unreadable, send us the VIN and we will confirm it. Ships from our US warehouse in one to two business days, free over $59.
