F Cover – GM (85640122)

This is a f cover from GM, factory part number 85640122. It is catalogued under Covers & Caps > Covers.

• Where a cover sits against a painted panel, a slight shade difference is normal on service parts supplied primed rather than finished.
• Plastic covers harden with heat cycles, so a cover that has been on the vehicle for a decade often cracks at the screw bosses when refitted.
• Genuine parts are made to the drawing the vehicle was built from, so dimensions and materials match the part being removed rather than being close to it.

Corrosion at a mounting face is worth cleaning back before fitting anything new, because a part that sits on scale will work loose. Inspection covers are usually the first thing removed and the last thing reordered, which is why a missing cover often shows up as a rattle rather than a leak.

Confirm the number before you order, because a near match will bolt on and still be wrong. Send the VIN if the old marking has gone. Leaves our US warehouse in one to two business days, and shipping is free over $59.
