F Cable – GM (84509747)

This is a f cable from GM, factory part number 84509747. It is catalogued under Cables & Linkage > Cables.

• A cable that already feels stiff before fitting usually has a kinked conduit from storage, and forcing it will make the bind worse once installed.
• Linkage rods with threaded ends are adjusted for length, so thread engagement at each end matters as much as the overall dimension.
• Genuine parts are made to the drawing the vehicle was built from, so dimensions and materials match the part being removed rather than being close to it.

A cable even a few millimetres short will not reach its bracket regardless of routing, so overall length is worth confirming before ordering. Where a cable operates a latch, the latch itself is often the real fault, so check that it moves freely before blaming the cable.

Check the number on the part you are removing before ordering. If it is worn off, send the VIN and a photo and we will match it. Leaves our US warehouse in one to two business days, and shipping is free over $59.
