F Cable – GM (42899296)

This is a f cable from GM, factory part number 42899296. It is catalogued under Cables & Linkage > Cables.

• A cable even a few millimetres short will not reach its bracket regardless of routing, so overall length is worth confirming before ordering.
• Adjustable rods and links are set to a reference length at the factory, and matching that length before fitting saves a lot of trial and error.
• Release and shift cables are directional. Fitted the wrong way round they usually still operate, but bind or fail early.

A cable that already feels stiff before fitting usually has a kinked conduit from storage, and forcing it will make the bind worse once installed. Fitment lists are a guide rather than a guarantee, because the same model year can carry different parts depending on the production break and the option code.

Match this against the part you are taking off rather than against a photo. If the number is unreadable, send us the VIN and we will confirm it. Handed to the carrier within one to two business days from our US warehouse, free over $59.
