Cable – GM (88862685)

GM lists this cable under number 88862685. It is catalogued under Cables & Linkage > Cables.

• Genuine parts are made to the drawing the vehicle was built from, so dimensions and materials match the part being removed rather than being close to it.
• The number stamped on the old part is the only reliable identifier, since two parts can look identical and differ by a millimetre or by rotation direction.
• Fitment lists are a guide rather than a guarantee, because the same model year can carry different parts depending on the production break and the option code.

Linkage rods with threaded ends are adjusted for length, so thread engagement at each end matters as much as the overall dimension. Release and shift cables are directional. Fitted the wrong way round they usually still operate, but bind or fail early.

Confirm the number before you order, because a near match will bolt on and still be wrong. Send the VIN if the old marking has gone. Leaves our US warehouse in one to two business days, and shipping is free over $59.
